Transform our Food System for an Equitable Future

Support the Minnesota Food Justice Network

As part of our commitment to building an equitable food system, our organization has proudly partnered with the Metro Food Justice Network (MFJN). MFJN isn’t just a coalition; it is a community network that connects and supports local advocates and leaders.

As one network member beautifully shared in a recent survey, “Holding space to heal, grow and be an authentic self with love… Being a part of MFJN makes me feel like [we are] more supported… stronger, safer, and more resilient.”

From supporting community events to funding cultural youth workshops, MFJN is the backbone that enables us to look toward the future and dream with a solid foundation. Right now, MFJN is entering a critical funding bridge to secure its independence August through October and beyond. Because this network belongs to all of us, we are asking our community to help fund it collectively.

To join us in supporting food justice, follow these two steps:

We Are More Powerful Together: Help Us Transform Our Food System for an Equitable Future

In food justice work, it is far too easy for organizations to operate in silos. That is why we rely on the Metro Food Justice Network (MFJN) to bring us together—connecting nonprofits, farmers, hunger relief sectors, and government peers.

Reflecting on the impact of this collaboration, one network member noted: “I think building one’s network is the most important work that we can do, and MFJN puts us together with folks across the spectrum of food justice work… We are better and more powerful together.”

MFJN provides the vital infrastructure for collective legislative advocacy, shared educational spaces like The Common Table, and cross-neighborhood resource sharing. To ensure this BIPOC-centered network remains a lasting, independent authority in Minnesota, we need to fund it as a community.

We are asking our extended network to match our commitment by following these two steps:

  1. Set up a sustaining monthly gift of $5 or $10 today: https://bit.ly/3RayFif
  2. Forward this message to your network!

“We are better and more powerful together. I feel privileged to be able to work with all of these folks to achieve a common goal in all our different ways.”

As proud partners of the Metro Food Justice Network (MFJN), this quote from a fellow network member hits home. MFJN is the backbone that connects individuals and organizations across the Twin Cities to advance racial equity and transform our food system from the roots up.

Right now, MFJN is launching a campaign to transform our food system for an equitable future. True food justice requires shifting systemic power—and that means we must support the Minnesota Food Justice Network through a critical funding bridge this August–October and beyond.

Help us keep this ecosystem thriving with these two steps:

Food justice work is incredibly rewarding, but it can also be heavy. That’s why we value the Metro Food Justice Network (MFJN). It’s a space where local leaders can show up authentically, collaborate, and as one member put it, find a healthy space where “you can disagree and still do the work… I love the network.”

MFJN supports the people and organizations who feed the Twin Cities. Now, it’s our turn to support the network. Will you stand with us and invest in a resilient, BIPOC-centered food system? Set up a monthly donation today to seed and sustain food equity: https://bit.ly/3RayFif
